Yufuin's natural hot springs serve both the private villa baths and the shared onsen facilities. The volcanic origins of Oita's thermal waters — the prefecture produces more hot spring water by volume than anywhere else in Japan — give the baths a mineral richness and temperature consistency that is integral to the wellness programming.
